I am a huge fan of J.R. Ward's BDB, so when I saw she had a brand new series, I was anxious to read it. Unfortunately, it is not as good as the BDB. The first 250 pages were a chore to get through, and for a few weeks I gave up on the book. However, the rest of the book is classic J.R. Ward. Even though I knew what the book was about, the entire storyline with Davina took me by surprise. If GoodReads had half stars, this book would be a solid 3.5. Hopefully J.R. Ward improves the series to 5 stars, which she is capable of.
