A satisfying end to this trilogy. I hope Ms. Crane writes more novels in this universe that center on the other characters.
I wish I could give this book more than 3 stars, but Dani got on my nerves way too much. I am interested in the next book, because there is a cliffhanger at the end, but I don't think I'll read it as soon as it comes out.
Not a bad thriller. The writing flowed nicely and the characters were well developed (except for Alle. I hated Alle). I will definitely be reading more books by Steve Berry.
Not a bad young adult book. Its well written, the plot is well hashed out, and Ana isn't annoying! However, I don't like it enough to continue on with the series.
Something about the story grossed me out. The kicker is, I already knew the story having read the original a long time ago!
A solid 3.5 stars urban fantasty/detective novel hybrid. I really enjoyed the different supernatural characters, including male sirens, jinns, and goblins. Charlie suffered from a few to stupid to live moments, but overall, I found her to be quite likable. This is one series I'll definitely continue to read.
Three things you should know about this book:
While the majority of reviews for "Shadowflame" are less than favorable, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I don't really like how Miranda's character has evolved, but the plot and the rest of the characters were compelling enough for me to want to keep reading the series.
Another wonderful book by Debora Geary. I don't normally read this genre, but she really makes you fall in love with the characters and the community.
I thought the book was great, until the rape scene at the end of the book between Knight and Dulcie. That left a bad taste in my mouth, and now, I don't like Knight all that much.
I have to say it. Tangle of Need is a horrible name for a book, and the cover is equally as bad, although not as bad as the earlier books in the series.
As an Ultimate Guide, this guide fell short. The first 75% is an extremely in depth, chapter by chapter recap of all the books. Now, if you're a fan of the Vampire Academy books, then chances are, you don't need the recap. The last 25% are character profiles and some background about St. Vladimir's and the Moroi Royal Court. Personally, I would have loved to learn more about the world of Vampire Academy.
When I requested this book from NetGalley, I was ready to read something outside of my comfort zone. However, this book fell short and I had to abandon it after about 25%. I just could not get into the writing style with the short, staccato sentences and stream of consciousness type writing. Unfortunately, I was so wrapped up in my hatred of the writing style that I couldn't even focus on the plot. The only thing I remember is wondering who gave an 18 year old the chance to go to Africa for 6 months and write an article on the AIDS epidemic? After that, nothing memorable about this book stands out.
Max is a the Prime Shadowblade of the Witch Giselle, that is, her top night warrior. Tricked into sacrificing her life by Giselle, Max wants nothing more than to kill her and end her slavery. However, with a war brewing that can wipe out existence for all of mankind, Max has to put her hatred aside and help Giselle.
